Chef Alex brings om-pah-pah to the table

A Taste of Germany featured at the Wednesday Night Buffet

When thoughts of October swirl, what comes to mind? Football games, chrysanthemums, or maybe steaming hot apple cider? For many, October means celebrating German customs, the most popular just might be Oktoberfest.
To honor all things Germanic in the month of October, Chef Alex is collecting tasty German dishes to be presented at the Clubhouse Wednesday Night Buffet, cleverly called “A Taste of Germany.”
Each Wednesday night the buffet table will groan under a wide variety of dishes, including beer cheese soup, potato, cabbage, cucumber dill or spatzle salads, beer braised chicken, beef brisket sauerbraten, pork schweinshake, roasted potatoes, spatzle, German sausages, braised
cabbage, and of course, pumpernickel rolls and thick homemade pretzels. Tempting desserts include assorted sweet crepes and Berliners, known best as jelly donuts.
Each Wednesday night will offer a new menu to savor. In October, you’ll want to join the buffet line often so you won’t miss a morsel.
The cost of the buffet is $14.99, plus tax. You can join the line as often as you’d like too – nobody’s counting how many jelly donuts cover your plate!
Let’s raise our glasses and salute one of the most beautiful times of the year in our mountains.
