North Georgia Vets revisit the Bay of Pigs Invasion

The North Georgia Veterans’ August meeting/luncheon will be held Wednesday August 9, at 11:30 a.m. in Mountains Grille at the Sconti Clubhouse. The guest speaker is Alberto J. Bolet who will talk about the Bay of Pigs Invasion in Cuba during April 1961. Alberto served in the Central Intelligence Agency where he was a member of Brigade 2506, 1st Airborne Battalion. Alberto participated in the Bay of Pigs invasion and was a prisoner of war in Cuba for 20 months.
Alberto is an experienced professional with 40-plus years experience in industry, consulting and academia. He retired as a partner in a major consulting firm. Previously, he started and directed his own software and consulting business, was a deputy director of IT for a major defense contractor, worked for a major Big Eight consulting company, and was IT director for a major communications manufacturing company.
After retirement, Alberto tutored college level and high school students in mathematics, physics, chemistry, statistics, languages and accounting. He is a State of Georgia CPA and has several other professional certifications. He is fluent in Spanish, French, and conversational German. Alberto has been married to his wife Margarita for 50+ years, has four children and nine grandchildren.
