The Wildflower Bunch Garden Club is once again proud to sponsor the 2017 Big Canoe Garden Tour on June 2 – 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Big Canoe community, their families, and guests are invited to stroll through four gardens within Big Canoe and visit with the gardeners who created these magnificent labors of love.

Learn how the host gardeners met the challenges of landscaping in Big Canoe by protecting plants from deer browsing, adding steps and paths to navigate a slopped terrain, creating a natural water feature to control drainage, and adding plants which are happy to grow in our climate and enhance the natural beauty of the area.
Event chairman John Lomax recently announced the gardens on tour to include the Ridgeview Drive garden of Jane and Bill Hickman, the garden of Bonnie and Brian Plikaytis on Red Trillium, Paulette and Robert Heaphey’s garden on Blue Sage Drive, and the Buttercup Lane garden of Lynn and John Simmons.
The tour will follow a designated route to ease traffic flow. This is a tour by personal car, so please carpool. Tickets for the tour can be purchased for $10 at the Wildflower Bunch meeting on Wednesday, May 3 or by submitting ticket request form available in the postal facility from the holder below the Wildflower Bunch Garden Club bulletin board.
Jean Lomax at (706) 268-1396 or JL2770@tds.net can answer any questions or sell you a ticket too.
Funds raised from ticket sales support environmental projects within Big Canoe or local communities. For more information: http://www.wildflowerbunch.com/.
